The collegiate church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is considered the oldest Gothic hall church in Bavaria. The church is surrounded by an arcade, which was built from the 15th century onwards as a burial place for the wealthy bourgeoisie and nobility of the old shipping and trading town of Laufen.
